Yesterday Grossman Tuning in Louisville Kentucky put on Bridge By The Water, a big Euro get together right on the Ohio River. The turnout was pretty huge and there were a lot of nice cars down there. I traveled down with a bunch of volkswagen owners from the Cincinnati area and we stayed overnight in a hotel on 2nd street, a few blocks from the show’s location. The night before the show, there was a small get together at the Grossman Tuning Garage/Shop where the mechanics showed their own cars, which were some of the cleanest volkswagens I have ever seen.
This was the best thing that I saw all day…
Earlier that morning I photographed my friend Bryan with his Volkswagen Corrado…
In the aftermath of the Ohio University Men’s Basketball 97-83 victory over the Georgetown Hoyas tonight in the first round of the NCAA tournament, OU students took to the main street in Athens (Court Street) in celebration. This is the first time in 27 years for an NCAA tournament win for the OU Bobcats. I didn’t make it up there until the disturbance had been controlled and dispersed but I was able to take a few photographs of what was left….
Since this week is exam week, I have no time for photoshoots. So I’m taking the time right now to revert back to one of the first digital portraits I took back in 2006 with my Nikon D70 of my girlriend at the time…
this is honestly still one of my favorite photographs I’ve taken. There’s just something about it.
This morning I myself the vice president of SPI, along with all of the other officers met to set up our show in Cube 4. It went very well and we are all excited for the opening tonight at 7PM. So! If you’re in Athens or go to Ohio University, you’re invited to come to Seigfred Hall to the Cube 4 Gallery on the 4th floor and enjoy food, some smooth music and the amazing work our commercial photographers have put together so far this year.
I’ve been speaking with Mark Kohlman, a freelance photographer for ESPN who photographed the 2010 Winter XGames in Aspen, Colorado this past winter, and we have been conversing on the whole idea of inspiration and goals and he referred me to this website…

Today I had the honor of hearing photographer Robert Caplin speak about his freelance experience shooting portraits of well known actors, screenwriters and musicians in New York City. There were a few stories that really had everyone smiling and laughing. His passion for natural light is what really caught my attention. He also strives to become a full time travel photographer and his portrait work in Cuba is absolutely eye catching, the light, colors and photojournalistic approach all bring about the essence and beauty of the culture.
So for my still life class I had to do an editorial piece showing a foot or hand coinciding with a product. So I chose to go a little out of the box and create a whole editorial based on my idea. I chose Vans partly because I needed new skate shoes and I love the style they shoot in.
The bottom right image is the image I’m turning in for class.
Mike and I spent this morning talking, enjoying the crisp cool air and playing on guitar. I took a few portraits of him, which looked great in color, but I just feel that his style is more reminiscent of black and white.
